Welcome

This blog will deal with genealogical, and historical, material with a prime focus on Henry and Ann Lunt of Newbury, Mass. Too, it can serve many other purposes, such as to facilitate collection of material, to help organize information from disparate sources, and to promote discussion about these matters.

For example, there is information available about Henry and Ann (Paula Stephen's work). There are several books that have been digitized, such as the one by Thomas S. Lunt. There is no evidence of any coordinated effort; the upcoming 400th anniversary of the Mass Bay may be a motivation.

---

My wife's mother is a direct descendant of Henry and Ann through their son Daniel. This blog will parallel the efforts to update information about Thomas Gardner of Salem. There are many interplays between these two families and many other families in the region. For instance, Henry and Ann were 2nd-great-grandparents of Elizabeth Pickering (daughter of Timothy Pickering) who was the grandmother of John Lowell Gardner I (Larson tree).

---
The posting process for this blog will be similar to that of the related blog (see Section on process). There will be references to the work of other families.

The Remarks have several purposes. For one, it is a place for additional information and commentary. Too, there may be forward links to future posts that are related.

Comments are open, for now, without any moderation. The hope is that we can collect information that way. Pointers to material at other sights will always be of interest.

Remarks:

02/01/2013 -- Update for rootsweb reference to Larson tree.

05/09/2011 -- According to Henry's Will, his wife was Anna.

05/07/2011 -- Mary (Wingate) Pickering, great-granddaughter of Henry and Ann and mother of Elizabeth Pickering.

02/08/2011 -- Saw a notice at NEHGS that William Addams Reitwiesner died in November of 2010. His site, at wargs.com, is being maintained by his literary executor. I have not used his work yet but had intended to.

12/24/2010 -- Here is an interesting page.

12/21/2010 -- One line of interest, to 1850, is the following: Henry, Daniel, Henry, Daniel, Daniel, Samuel, Benjamin, Jacob.
